The City of London Corporation is seeking to enhance
the streets and public spaces in the Eastern Cluster of the City.
The vision is to create an exceptional urban environment
which is attractive, welcoming and vibrant.
We want to hear your views on the proposals by responding a short questionnaire.
The Eastern City Cluster is an expanding part of the City with an increasing working population and a growing number of visitors. The public realm must respond to these demands in order to maintain the area’s attractiveness as a world-class business destination and increasingly as a hub for culture and leisure. Against this changing backdrop, the public realm must have the capacity to accommodate change and also the flexibility to adapt to new uses and ways of working in support of the wider ambitions of the area.
The Strategy is focused on what happens between the buildings and how can we make the public spaces more attractive, safe and welcoming. The desire is to create outstanding public spaces which in combination with a dynamic range of curated events, will become destinations in their own right.
Increasingly crowded streets
Future construction of new towers
Lack of trees and green spaces
New ways of working and changing trends in office occupancy, visitor & workforce profile
Limited capacity for servicing and deliveries
Appetite for more cultural events and leisure activities
Desire for a more attractive and comfortable environment
Improved walking routes and safer crossings
Bishopsgate Ward Members are pleased to invite local occupiers from the area to a lunchtime meeting to discuss the emerging proposals from the Eastern Cluster Area Strategy and the Transport Strategy, which have been developed to respond to an increasing working population and a growing number of visitors.
This event will be hosted by Broadgate Estates and will take place on Friday 21st September 2018, at 12:00-14:00.
Should you wish to attend, please contact Maria Herrera, City of London Project Manager, on email@example.com to book your place.
